This policy describes how Zelau processes the personal data collected through the zelau.com website, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller
The data controller is the site's publisher (see the legal notice). For any question, write to ouvrardn@gmail.com.
Data collected
Two things, which never mix.
- The files you upload to the project space: your AAF, and depending on the function a reference QuickTime, a PDF script or EDL files.
- What you write in the contact form: your name, your email address, where applicable your company and your role, the content of your message, and the IP address the message was sent from — that address is used only to limit automated submissions.
The web server also keeps an ordinary technical log: IP address, page requested, date, browser.
Purpose and legal basis
Uploaded files are used only to run the function you asked for: the legal basis is the performance of the service you request. Form data is used to answer your request and follow it up: the legal basis is your consent and the publisher's legitimate interest in handling the requests addressed to it. The technical log and the retention of the IP address rest on the legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Processing of your files
From the browser, functions run on the Zelau server, not on your own machine: uploading a file means sending it to us. That is what a tool running from a web page implies. Everything below describes that version; the application transmits nothing.
What follows from it, and stands as a commitment:
- your files and the outputs produced are deleted automatically after one hour, with no human involvement;
- they are never opened, read, or kept for any other purpose;
- they are passed to no third party;
- the project space is password-protected and is not indexed by search engines;
- an upload is capped at 300 MB.
If your edit is under embargo, bear in mind that the names of your files, reels and shots travel with them. For that case there is an application that runs entirely on your own machine: it reads your files where they sit, transmits nothing and leaves nothing on our servers. Write to us to obtain it.
Retention period
- Uploaded files and outputs produced: one hour, then automatic deletion.
- Contact form data: as long as needed to handle your request, then three years at most from our last exchange, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Web server technical logs: fourteen days.
Recipients
Your data is intended solely for authorised people at Zelau. It is neither sold nor passed to third parties for commercial purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. You may exercise these rights by writing to ouvrardn@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
